No fun work trips this week, no exciting extra activities, just a fairly run of the mill week of the same old normal stuff. (Proceeds to post a long ass post)
Except for the part where we had a bunch of dudes show and and tear the roof off and replace it at the house. Which I wasn’t really around for because I had work. Not that I would have been doing much, the guy who gave us the quite said he has had entire jobs where he doesn’t even meet with the people having the work done.
I figure it might be a fun contrast with last week’s look at Beast Box Lovegun, with a much much simpler Beast Box item, the IceQube. This was the second of these Beast Box toys I picked up, quite a while ago. It’s technically not just one figure, but four of them. Four little robot Penguins.
Transformers has kind of been spreading it self across audiences for a while now. There is movie content and toys pretty consistently, there is the collector line that often homages back to the G1 era for your classic fans, there is usually a cartoon for the 10-13 sort of audience and often there is a “Young Kids” line of very simplified toys.
Transformers Rescue Bots was one of those kids lines.
If I had been paying attention, maybe I could have remembered that today was not only Star Trek Day, the day that the first episode of the original series aired, but its also the 60th anniversary of the show. It kind of feels like I should write something up for a prestige anniversary for one of my favorite TV series…es. Is it still just series?
Probably part of why I missed it was that I have never been a huge fan of The Original Series. I actually have never watched all of it, though I started to and it fizzled out a bit a few years ago. Most of my love for TOS comes from the movies, and more specifically, movies 2-6. Yes, all of them. Even though Search for Spock is a bit meh. I have probably watched The Wrath of Khan a few dozen times though. I think I even saw The Undiscovered Country in theaters.
I want to share a dumb little side note on specifically these posts. One, I often write them throughout the week, as I do things, so I don’t forget. Sometimes they probably feel a bit disjointed for that, but I try to keep a flow. Second, when I write in Joplin, everything gets a date. Either the date written, or the date it gets published on the blog. Like I may write a review without a date, but once its scheduled, I add a date. Its sort of a way to keep track of if I need to push something to the blog. For these, I put the Saturday date, but its in there twice, like this.
I wrote a while back about building a “keyboard jiggler” with my Raspberry Pi Pico board. Overtime I modified and improved it a bit to also work with mouse presses (hold M1). Basic keyboard commands were fine for idling in Fortnite LEGO, but for Droid Tycoon, I needed to be able to press a mouse. I also added an on/off toggle was supposed to get a button but I never got around to soldering a button to it and just short the pins with a wire to start and stop it.
